Airbag Jeans
Decided to try a pair of these jeans with a Helite airbag jacket I already own. Fit: length is good but no zippers at the feet. I originally tried the relaxed fit and those were far too baggy for me. These regular fit seem good - neither too tight or loose. Waist size is true. Pockets are normal for jeans. There are small ventilation slits in each lower leg to allow some air in, but I would not wear these in hot weather.
Quality: Material is a nice heavy denim. The airbag cartridge sits on the right leg and is accessible through the outside seam that runs down each leg and is held closed by Velcro. When off your bike, you can slip the tether clip inside the pocket where the airbag cartridge resides and you have a pretty passible pair of jeans. The included knee pads do visually bulge a bit but not excessively. The inner airbag liner is easily removable for cleaning.
Function: a simple tether to the clip on the right leg is all that is required for operation. I like this solution as there's no electricity or batteries to deal with. Simply put, if you launch off your bike, these will inflate.
Hopefully I will never need to test out the inflation protection but it's nice to know it is there.
