Helite Turtle 2 Airbag Vest Hi-Viz Yellow (Mechanical Trigger)

In 38 years of combined riding and driving, I was just involved in my first ever MVA. I was doing 35mph on an urban 2 lane when a young boy darted out in front of me on an electric scooter. I did all I could to avoid him and just grazed him with my right handlebar grip guard. Thank God the boy was uninjured and went home with his mom after medics checked him out. I fell hard on my left side. Thank goodness the helite airbag vest deployed and kept me safe. Unfortunately I broke my left toe despite my alpinestar riding boots. I will not ride again without my airbag and have just reordered the replacement co2 cartridge.

The vest is well built and comfortable. The only thing i am not fond of is the buckles are plastic and I wish they were metal. I am curious on how well they would work as floatation if the biker ends up in water during a crash.

This is my second vest. I had my first one for over 10 yrs. Deployed it 3 times at the track. Third time the crash at T- Hill east ripped into the air bladder but not before doing it's job. No upper body injuries.

5 stars, so far... vest is comfortable and fits well. The real test is if it protects me in a crash, which I hope never to find out!

I have enjoyed this product it can be used over my other safety gear or with out it.

Had a lowside. My boots/pants were probably more important in this case, judging from the state of them afterwards, but the vest did deploy and may have prevented some bruising. When I first got it I was a bit concerned that it was a little too loose, however it firms up nicely when inflated.

The vest is higher quality than what I expected, it's really very nice!

It's a bit heavier than what I hoped for and I could feel it on the shoulders after my first 6 hour ride with it, but other than that it's not noticeable while riding.

I was worried it would cause wind drag at higher speeds, but it doesn't. It also doesn't cover up the shoulder vents on my leathers.

It gives a good sense of additional security, not only the airbag but also the crazy yellow color that makes a noticeable difference at being seen.

No complaints on this pricey purchase. All the materials are feel high quality and I feel this product would offer unrivaled protection in a crash. Would buy again hands down.

I recently bought the Turtle2 Hi-Viz vest. It's lighter than I thought and didn't restrict airflow/venting as much as I'd expected.

Haven't had to use it yet, and hope not to, though feel good knowing it's there to supplement other safety gear.

Customer Service is fantastic -- responsive, accommodating, and enjoyable to interact with. They seek to ensure that you're comfortable with sizing. I'm 5'7", 178lbs, 44 inch chest, and wear a large in other tops/jackets (size 54 Euro), and wear a large in this with no issues.

Hoping never to have to try it, but it definitely feels more secure and well made than the amazon Chinese counterfeits

I started commuting on my bike given the price of fuel these days. The high visibility certainly grabs the attention of other drivers on the road in all sorts of lighting conditions. It provides my family and I the peace of mind knowing that in combination with good gear, I exponentially increase odds of minimizing injury. It’s worth the investment.

so far this vest has been a good investment thankfully i have not had the need to use it yet. But like they say you don't buy something like this hoping to use it. you buy it hoping you won't need to. still having to remember to clip on the tether.
